Hi Guys
The client gets the DVD tomorrow, im not sure how they will feel about that. Im not totally happy with them, but a select few I was really happy with. I did indeed learn alot and would do things differently next time.
Things like full length shots, more of those. Change a few of my settings, add in a extra stop of light to just about every shot (which I did via PP as I shot RAW all night) just tweaks to get the shots RIGHT in the camera rather than in PP. White Balance, that kind thing which I was lucky to correct.
More shots of the bar, staff, venue itself next time too.
Massive learning experience, so lucky to have done it! Just hope the client likes them
Thanks for your feedback guys!

Damn, nice shots in there thats for sure
I am sure you had a great time taking the shots and the atmosphere must have been fun.
Your flash must have been working over time

Thanks! Glad you like them - the 580EX worked flawlessy as did the camera all night. Didn't even use a full set of batteries and just nigh on filling a entire 4GB card! Glad I shot RAW for my first gig - JPG would have been so unforgiving.

how was the flash aimed, assuming it was an external flash,
Because the background is black and the ceilings are high at clubs, does it make a difference to aim the flash upwards? or were all your flash shots aimed straight at the subject?
Would the flash be quite annoying at a bar?

Flash was pointed direct with stofen omni bounce to soften it a bit... black roof would absorb all the light so no point doing that !
