i was fidgeting with photoshop tonight and while i liked the original image there was just too much colour and noise in the background.
as a result i have cut the subject and b+w everything else.
results below.

That's a very effective way of putting more emphasis on a subject that would otherwise be weakened by a busy background.

An interesting treatment. I find that I can't look at the picture for too long before I go cross-eyed. Too busy for me!

Without the selective colouring this would be a very busy shot but even still the boarder still seems to blend in with the background some what maybe if he was a bit sharper then it would pop out more.
But cool photo.

The selective colour works well, but I still find I am distracted by all that is going on in the background, and can't quite make out how he is relative to his surrounds.

I find the angle of the shot distracting, but I like the selecting colouring.

thanks for the feedback,
i have another series of five shots with a rider doing a different trick,
i'd like to join them all up and do the slective cut out on that just to see how it looks, i may get to it tonight.
i'll get the result up as soon as i can.

I really like it. I'm not a fan of selective colouring, however you've made the subject capture my interest in what would otehrwise be a very busy photo.
