No real theme running through this series Matt. A random collection.

#1 - dont mind this one - detail is quite good. Was the darkness in the top left caused by a shadow?

#2 - Im not sure if the shadow comming from the top middle adds anything to the image - its not mysertious enough to add interest. I like the wet look and rain drops in the puddle at the landing on the bottom of the stairs. Might need to pep up the title of the image to make it more catchy, and give the viewer somewhere to go with it?

#3 - I like the mural in the background of this place. Quite a scenic court. Much nicer than a tin shed. Have you considered straightening the horizon?

#4 - I hope that isnt a Japanese whaling vessel. Nice blue colour and the stark white works well in contrast. The composition does enough to leave the viewer guessing. So this one works for me. Again, maybe some more scope to play with the title?

i like the 2nd one, it's a quite nostalgic image

thing is the horizon aint straight it may be intentional but for a image like that id make the horizontal lines balanced

the horizon on the basket ball shot is also not straight

4th nice simple elements and composition but the framing sems rushed as you have chopped off the 3rd circle
this may be intentional too but subconsciously i just know it would look better you framed the 3rd dot in with a sufficient buffer space around it that would of been a cleaner composition

although i do understand the why someone would intentionally chop some of the circle as it implies a visual stopmark and makes you think more about it since its chopped off
it wouldnt be much work to re-crop and get those horizons straight


also on the last the horizontal lines are not straight either

Well, as a ”showcase” of your talent they do your trigger finger and hawkeye justice

I like the second and the fourth one.

First, all four look the same to me. They're awfully small, too. You seem to be limiting yourself to primary colours and simple geometric shapes.

In case you're interest Matt, Steffen's comment is based on how your images don't seem to show up in posts at the moment and have a requirement of right-clicking on the icon to view the image and then coming back to the post to see each image.

#1: I like the sculpture/fresco/whatever the word is but I've never cared much for the photo-of-art type photo. (Usually, and in this case) I don't think it demonstrates your skill as a photographer, and art is always much better viewed in person.

#2: I like very much. Great silky texture of the water over the stairs and a wonderful sense of mystery as your eyes wander down the staircase to who knows where. Love the rain drops at the bottom, too.

#3: Is a bit busy, I think. I'm drawn more to the mural at the back, but then that's kind of obscured by the poles and this basketball game which seems to be in the way. I think what I'm trying to say is, I don't know where to look.

#4. I also like this a lot. Took me a moment to work out what it was (I didn't see your title), but I actually liked that about it. Love the bold colour and the simplicity of the shapes.

Yep. Pbase problem again! I might have to dump them and shift to Smuggy smug. Steffen....my images as you see them...at least they are consistent!

This is weird. From home, I can see the second one only. Different ISP, OS and browser... What on earth are they filtering on?

However, I like this a lot. The steps look dangerously slippery and the perspective adds to the feeling of an imminent fall. Also, the bad weather - well captured.
