Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Final colour correction would take place in a post production company in May and then it will be transfered to film to go to some festivals.

Shot with a panasonic hvx200 + sgpro r.2 (a 35mm adapter) + some manual nikon and zeiss lenses.

Sorry for putting so many images in one post. I thought that it was better not to split this post.

Any comments would be much appreciated.

thanks a lot,

Looks damn nice! Very moody and dramatic indeed. Good luck with the launch and award nominations to come :)

I agree. Can you tell us a bit more about it - is it a short film? Did you write and direct it? What is the story behind it? Are you a professional film maker?

Can't wait to see the end product, that is if ti comes to Australia... (will it ) Looks very interesting from the stills, I like the styles.. do you have a blurb on what the movie is about, etc ? Or can't you release that till the film is ready for release ?

It is a short and it will be about 13 minutes. I direct it and co-write it. I can't tell much about the story right now, but be sure that i will let you know immediately once i can. I'm not a professional film-maker. It is my first """big""" project.

Unfortunately i can't tell many things right now, but i will very soon :)
Can you suggest me a good short film festival in Australia? I find it great idea.

i can see the strong narrative through each image
and very thoughtful framing and clever art direction to further enhance the impact of the story line

however some shots look post processed is the film a mixture of styles or are you just experimenting the tone in number 1 in particular is disjointed from the others, is that intentional?

your cinematography is excellent
congratulations on the prestigious work

Thank you wendellt for your kind words.

Most of the shots are post processed by me but it isn't the final result. The pp i have done is something like a demo of what i want, so the post production company will understand what i expect from them. But it is not 100% the final result that i want. I am still working in this section.

As for the styles, there are 4 different stories in this film that have something in common, something that travel from story to story, so i decide to show this difference in some way.

Many thanks guys, i'll keep you updated!

I just want to add that your use of lighting is exquisite ;) Very much like F.F. Coppola.

There are a fair number of film festivals here in Australia. The one I can think of is the Melbourne International Film Festival. Not sure how you enter it but have a look online :)
