Take a look at my life...My heart goes out to this old homeless guy, he's in the same bus stop outside office works in Adelaide st Brisbane nearly every day. I really wish our government would do more for people like this, our mental health and public housing departments need to get there act together.

I was really suprised to see this post. I am currently working in Bris and I pass this guy nearly every morning. I really do feel for this guy.
Since being here I have noticed that there are noticiably more homeless here than in Melbourne. I think due to the weather. The first shot really captures the whole mood. His life in a suitcase.
All of these shots are very emotive but #3 is truly superb. The eyes and the rugged face must hold many stories. . .

G'day
I think #3 is the best in my eyes, the B&W version just seems to miss the "oomph" of the colour. I had to resize my monitor on my "work PC" to see the image in full. Have you read the FAQ about image size? Cheers
Bob in sunny Perth What gear? Watch this space!
I am torn between #s and 3.
The expression in the eyes, and that they're not looking at you ... the detail in the face ... but then you go back and look again at #1, which, while maintaining an air of casualness about it, tells a story in the way that the others do not. g.

Terrific shots, very emotive.
I really do feel sorry for the poor old bugger, I'm sure he's got a tale or 2 to tell.... I'd like to think the help is there for him if he wants it... All I know, is that I don't know enough.....
Saw this series over at overclockers. Loved it there, love it here. (Due to some certain posts, I won't comment on the overclockers thread).
It really shows a griity, real side of life. The B&W is my pick of the bunch -very emotive, especially the eyes. This guy really suits B&W portraits. Tell me, did you approach the guy, or just snap hime with a longer lens?
Thank you all for your kind comments, much appreciated.
Thanks Ollie glad you like, and I can understand your position with regard to OCAU. In hindsight I probably should have let the photos do the talking and left my comments out, the political argument detracts/sidetracks from the strong visuals. Yes I did approach him, I asked if I could take a few snaps, he said OK and after I finished I gave him a fiver for his troubles. I appreciated your direct comments... and I take them as a compliment because while not trying to directly make you feel guilty, the image did produce a strong emotion from you, which is exactly what a photographer wants ![]()
