Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Conference Candid
The person in this photo would kill me if he knew i was posting this.
I hope he never finds out. Getting a photo of this guy is tough and I was lucky to catch this Candid. mind you the SB800 probably ruined all chances of him not ever knowing I took the photo. While I am posting pictures I may as well ask, if I go on a work conference, take my camera, take photos for which I am not specifically paid for, are they my property or my works property because i took them while on their conference?? anyways now the picture

If you were being paid to attend the conference, and not paid to take photographs, then the photographs are yours - the worst your employer can do is discipline you for taking photographs on their time (instead of working), and that is entirely dependent on their care factor

Seriously, though, unless your work is photography and your employer pays you to take photographs they have no claim over your shots. The worst they can do is cut your pay for pursuing your hobby on their time. Cheers Steffen. lust for comfort suffocates the soul
I like the photo. My preferred shot is the candid portrait, & while I try, I rarely pull it off as well as this one. He should be pleased with it, not ready to kill you.
As for ownership, I am inclined to say its yours, but it really depends on the contract you signed with your employer. I have seen some that say that anything done on company time is theirs if they want it. For that matter, I have seen some that say it's theirs even if it was not on company time 
I have even seen clauses that have a sunset 6 months after you quit 
You might also need to read the rules for the conference venue. It is just possible (though highly unlikely!) that the venue can lay claim to ownership. Greg
