Topless Girl Melbourne Streets

Oh well, the roof was down...
Had fun experimenting tonight with the 10.5 Fish Eye, and slow shutter speeds. I liked this one, with the tunnel wrap around, and even in the rear view mirrors :D

Welcome C&C on this technique, slow shutter, in moving vehicles...

Exposure was using shutter priority, I think i'd go manual if I was going to do a few runs, but shutter priority worked best for a one off.

How can you make people look at something else than what they expected from the title?

Its a very good result, I like it :)

Sweet, i like it. Isn't it a bit chilly in Melbourne for that kind of thing this time of year :)

Oh, sorry about that, was that misleading? :?

Um, yep! Fine during the day, but when the sun goes down, its too cold. But toughed it out for the sake of learning the shot...

Brilliant image! I'd love to see one going through a tunnel and another when you are driving through the city, with the skyscrapers towering overhead. You have the technique nailed!

great effort, love it.
The 2nd image with the corrected horizon is much better.

Thanks Matt. We tried a few through Melbourne's tunnel but there isnt much detail in there, so not much to blur (just the over head lights, so they streak in straight lines.

Got a few of the "clock on the hill / nylex tower" but need to improve on those.

Thanks for the skyscraper suggestion, I love it. I can imagine that the top of the tall buildings will appear sharper, while the street level is all blurred due the the motion. Was also thinking to experiement with flash to freeze a reflective street sign.

Thanks to 7zark7 for helping me with this.

Very artistic, creative and a visual treat. Love the composition (2nd straightened is best :) ), leading lines, colour theme, sense of freedom and movement, etc, etc. Terrific!!
Now if only I would have taken it..... :) Hell if I only owned the car
cheers
marco

thanks for your supportive feedback.

I was surprised that the steel beams overhead, blurred out, leaving the strong white lines of the lights, and the orange sidewall.

No, why, does it have a similar shot?

This was my third adhoc attempt at this. And I think the time of day was an important factor (late dusk).

What was in "Practical Photography"? (assuming thats a magazine?)

It's a UK mag, available in most newsagents - they had a series of articles on low light, one of them was about mounting in a car and shooting passing structures at dusk/night - it wasn't topless, but similar concept :)

Just a coincidence as I read the article on the weekend.

thanks for the comments everyone.

Next month is my 1 year digital anniversary, and I am loving learning at a rapid rate.

I learn a lot through this forum, so thank you all for giving feedback on what I post (images, and silly questions, like, "what is WB"? )
