While in New Zealand in February with Sheepie, his uncle took us for a hike up a dry riverbed in the dark (which was fun :? ) so we could see some glowworms in a spot he knew of. Aside from the fact his uncle, a keen bushmen, managed to walk up the damn creek like it was a concrete pathway while we stumbled and tripped; it was a fascinating, but photographically challenging experience.

How do you take a shot of glow worms in the dark when all you'd get for your troubles is white specks. My solution was to use a torch to light paint during part of a long exposure so you could see some of the vegetation. I'm not really happy with the results but thought I'd share them here anyway.

I found the Glow Worm caves to be the best as you can go in daylight but it's dark inside.

the glow worms look like fairies around the ferns. I think you did pretty well considering the lighting conditions...or lack of :)
