Theo - I really like the 2nd and 3rd images here. The first one doesn't do anything for me at all. I'm not sure why, but it just doesn't!? Sorry. You've done extra well with the 2nd and 3rd though - well done. Did u play around with them much in PP?

Wow the 3rd is amazing! The expression captured.....very moving. Really like all three though. Quite different feelings in all of them.

Most excellent series of shots, I like your select desat on the first image. And the third is just awesome, great framing and the eye contact connects you to the subject...very tender shot

I play with contrast, exposure, brightness and selective colour in photoshop usually.

A very strong portrait set here. They are all very engaging images. Terrific.

I'm going to have to go against the grain and say that I don't particularly like the processing on these. I have really liked some of your other work in the past, but this lot is not up to that standard, I don't think.

The selective de-sat on the first and processing on the other two have not been flattering to your subject - his skin looks awful, wheras I'm sure in real life he has healthy, youthful skin!

I really think you should have gone either completely black and white, or colour, whereas what you have here is somewhere in between.

The pose and cropping on the second two are good, with #3 being the best, I think, and if you re-processed the colour on these they could be improved.

Here it goes! You managed to make the child almost angelical and I believe you captured as well as his good looks - his innocence and for this alone I think they are very nice pictures. I prefer pictures two and three. The first one is a bit out of focus and I am not sure if you did this intentionally or the subject moved slightly and yet it is still a very pleasant image. I don't mind at all that you made the subject monochrome and chose to leave also some colour because it gives the viewer more to look at, and perhaps an indication of what is important to the child. But, more important than my opinion it is your own and whether you like them because in photography, and I learned this in this forum, taste is in the eye of the beholder.

These are very strong,confronting images and I admire your creativity! I'm not sure the bokeh is anything special......the little I see is fairly average, but then there's not much of it to judge critically. What you have managed to do is throw that background nicely out of focus and that's working for you.

yeah, number 3 is the best in my opinion great work...

Absolutley beautiful shots, if you didn't mention that he was 'special' I probably would not have picked that he had downs syndrome. The angles you have chosen as well as the relaxed facial expressions have made the skeletal characteristics of downs syndrome far less obvious in him. He appears so peaceful and dignified, as he should. These are images that depict him, not his disorder.

Stunning set here. Ive done a fair bit of work in disability support and have often wished I had my camera with me. I think my old boss summed it up best: "there is nothing happier in this world than a happy child with downs sindrome"

Number 3 is the business for me. great shot.
