Two sunsets

I can't hope to compete with some of the sunset images I have seen posted on here, yet. I'm having a really good time learning more and more, and (hopefully) improving though.

The second is fairly noisy, and I'm not so sure if the portrait orientation works here. I'm also shocking when it comes to critiquing my own work. I know quality and how good an image is can be a personal/different for everyone deal, but are these any "good"?

Hey,

Can't deny there are some fantastic colours there. :D

As for advice, for me, wheat makes a great sunset is as Surenj hinted, adding foreground interest in addition to the interest of the sky.

So, for example, you could have a silhouetted person, or tree, and look up at them with a dramatic angle, so there is still strong emphasis on the sky, but there is something else in the shot to hook you in. Or go out to a pier and make use of some strong leading lines. Just some suggestions...

Thanks very much guys. Unfortunately, the usual foreground of those scenes is pretty boring, and doesn't add much interest. I shall endeavour to work around it though.

Cheers.
