A few shots while at a cafe. I don't know how other people manage to take shots of ordinary objects and make them look fascinating. Any suggestions gratefully received.

The writing shot was candid, not posed, for those who want to know.

Just out of interest, I did some PP on the bill, the writing, and the cappucino, but I don't know if it adds anything.

Big, bold and colourful. The only way to handle these types of subjects. Good job!

Thanks. I tried to fill the frame with the subject as much as possible, and throw everything else into the background.

I'm using a D80 with the standard 28-200mm film lens, which actually seems to do quite well, although it's obviously not professional grade (and I have no idea how to evaluate its bokeh or anything else).

I tried to make the subject stand out with good colour saturation and high contrast. That seems to be the way forward.
