Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Southsea Beach, (near Portsmouth) in the height of summer.
Southsea Beach, famous for it's beautiful beaches and historical pier where entertainment abounds with examples of English culture such as Loggy Pippins dancing dog show and the Silly Buggers Trio.
Shot on 'Kodak 100' film using a Nikon F70d circa 1997. Algae removed but responsible for vignetting.

Yes, some place to long for...
I'm sure, however, that the local pubs make up for it, and then some...
Cheers

Yes they did. The fish and chips shops were crap.

Reminds me of that wonderful book - "The day of the triffids"
No people enjoying the bright, warm sunshine running over the sandy shores with naked (gasp) feet
I like the depth of field in this photo though. The 'sand' seems to stay in focus for a very long way.
Cheers

That's the film, Peter.
Steve, great shot.
Oddly it reminds me of Venice Beach in California, because of the buildings right on the beach front, which is something that we don't often see, at least in Sydney.

reminds me of my assignment in Brighton. You needed GP boots to walk on the beach in the mornings (due to rocks, not suringes).
Ahh, do miss that large soft light source, you could count on it every day!

As already stated, a great DOF. With that beckoning for an enjoyable Sunday at the beach you have to feel sorry for the poor bastards. No wonder they are like they are.
