Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. My favourite P&S photosThese photos were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 5200 point and shoot camera. Probably not up to the high standards of a lot of the other images here but imo they are some of the best I have taken with it....

You could probably save some detail in the shadows with PS - that first one would have been a nightmare to expose even with the D80!

I did try some post processing with the first one and it did bring out more detail in the shadows but the rest then looked overexposed. It may be that i need more experience with paintshop...
I haven't used Paintshop but I'm sure that you can apply layer masks. This way you can duplicate the original image, apply your changes and then only reveal those areas of the updated image that need to be.
I could give it a try in Photoshop if you would like, just place the original online somewhere and PM me. I'll send it right back. http://www.50mmprime.com

Cool, thanks for the offer. Could you pm me an email address to send it to? (Can't find a decent file sharing app atm.)
