We had a very rare visitor to our backyard yesterday.

We were siting out the back listening to the rosellas squaking to each other before everything went deathly quiet and they all quietly flew away.

About 10 seconds later a Peregrin Falcon landed in the tree and just sat there watching us. I ran inside and frantically put the camera together to get this shot. It only stayed for maybe 2 minutes before flying off down the hill.

It has since visited twice and we get the same mass exodus of birds prior to it's arival. So amazing to watch!

Must be lonely being a bird of prey. Everyone pisses off as soon as you walk in the door.

He's definitely eyeing you off. :)

Ha ha, yeah you'd have to start to question your social skills ;).

Fantastic birds though. They have recorded speeds of up to 320km/h whilst diving on prey  . No wonder the Rosellas don't stick around.

The photo itself is not the best but I thought it was significant enough to post for interest.
