After an excellent meet last weekend at Byron Bay (thanks Mark, Peta, Sam & Ryan) I'm finally getting some images processed. Here are four early ones all taken with the 10.5 DX fisheye

This first shot was taken at Minyon falls. Art direction by yours trully, hand modelling by Mark

you can also see this in black and white HERE

This next shot was taken on the way to Byron. I'm not sure of the exact location. Thanks to Leigh for helping me improve the composition.

This is the same tree as the first shot above but looking from the other side

This last image isn't mine. It was taken by Sam (seen in the image above) while playing with the fisheye on my D2x. I can't put my finger on just why, but I think this is a cracker of an image.

Edit: Added black and white of #1

First one has a lot potential to further develop into something more creepy and scary!

#3, just stunning and excellent, I like it a lot :D

All excellent!.....but that first shot! Like some nightmarish parody of the birth of man. The world is not yet ready for your greatness. :D :D :D

They are all very good, Peter, and the first one has a lot of potential variations of a theme.

#1 and #3 for me.

There's something about the distortion of #2 that irks me but the rest of the shot is brilliant.

#4 is certainly striking, but looks more like an ad (for Nikon or Tamron).

#1 for me Stubbsy.
An interesting take for a hollow tree.

#1 for me also. The hand looks like its disconnected from everything. Very spooky.

That's a great looking hand Stubbsy.
Glad you were rewarded with some great shots from Minyon Falls.

The B&W certainly has a spookier feel about it, the tree really does appear to have a hand, from the bend in the wrist back it's completly black where as in the colour version you can see a little of my forearm.

The colours in 2 look great and I like how you have taken care of the sun.

Great composition in the 3rd, I like the way the OOF each side lead into focus on the tree (inside) then onto the face, nice work with the exposure of the background bush above Sam's head.

I'm like you with Sam's shot, not sure why, but it appeals to me too. Perhaps it's the central focus on the lens and reflection, then there is all that's going on outside the black circle that is the lens.
