Nice work Leigh, what sort of lens was she using? Looks like an older 200 f4 sort of size.

looks to me like she's running a Olympus E-500 with a 40-150 - the size of the lens hood would tend to indicate that to be the case, as well as what appears to be square notches on the zoom grip...


Or I could just keep wishing I was that lenscap :p

Candid. Very quick, actually. All of the photographers saw her as we walked down the beach. She was shooting the surfers, we were shooting her. So far, I know that two of the others got her out of focus... the fates must have been smiling on me that day to give me an in-focus shot and other people the out-of-focus ones.

And it's a Canon. See for yourself.

Ah... nice pick up, I didn't even see the lens cap there.

B/W is better IMHO

Hmm, no idea on the lens then - just the whole profile of the camera reminded me of my old olympus.

B&W looks much better than colour for these. I think I prefer the first.

First one is really good, and all the BW conversions are excellent


It looks like a Canon 75-300 or Sigma 70-300 lens on it. My bet is more over to the Sigma, I had one of these for a while before I sold it...

I didn't have the DTs - it was the camera/lens - they had an auto-focus problem

Yes lucky you were.
I have one to post also, but not nearly as good as these.
Hard to pic a fave, I like them all but the three from the side I think are stronger images than the one from behind. Reflections in the sand in two and water rushing over the feet in the third make them for me, the B&W conversion works a treat on them too.

I'm thinking you must have studied them hard at 100% to find that lens cap.

I quite dig the reflection in the water and then also the positioning of the OOF stuff.
