Just hanging around at the Melbourne Zoo

Went to the Melbourne Zoo with my son.

Taken with my 70-300g. I could have stayed and watched these guys for hours.

The colours and composition on number 3 are excellent! I find myself distracted by the blown highlights in number 1 and numbers 1 and 2 seem a bit soft to me. I love looking at the apes as well.

The butterflies were pretty easy to capture. Lots around. Lots just sitting.

The orangutans were pretty cool. This little fellow (or girl) was moving pretty quick, on the other other side of the enclosure. That's when i put the 300g on. Just trying to capture him(her). I think I was spot metering at the time, so the orangutan is probably ok, but yes the light behind is no good :oops:

They do look a bit soft now. especially the giraffe. It struck up an interesting pose, which was the purpose for the capture.
