I noticed this on my way home from work the other day and headed down to take some more night shots. I'm not sure if I really like the second shot but thought I'd throw in anyway.
Hope you enjoy.

The first shot is very interesting, well composed and exposed. But i wonder, 'What is it?'

Yep it's a ferris wheel. Haven't been on it yet but I'd say there'd be a great view from the top!

The first shot is a clear winner, the 3rd is also pretty damn cool.
The second one doesn't work as well, I don't like the colour of the lights on the right, and composition wise it isn't as interesting.

The third shot is growing on me now.

The BW image is a cracker and is my favourite of the 3.

That first shot is a cracker. Very futuristic, looks like something out of a science fiction movie. I must admit I had to read thru the post before I realised it was a ferris wheel. Thought it was some kind of giant alien repelling device or something.
Cheers

Not keen on #2, but #1 is awsome.

I really like these. Must have been hard to frame your shots with all those light poles everywhere, but you've done well. I really like #1, but I think it needs straightening slightly. Your black and white conversion is great too.

Nice work. We saw this ferris wheel when we were at a comedy festival event (Chopper's - Harden The F%#$ Up Australia), and I thought it would be interesting to try and shoot.
It has a lot of colours flashing on and off and "moving" around the wheel, so getting a still shot of interest is not easy.
These are good - number 1 the better colour shot in my opinion, but the I like the BW best of all.
I wonder if several fast shutter speed shots on the tripod blended together would show the colour action better?
Anyway, well done.

I actually saw this one being put up while walking from the MCG back to the CBD a few weekends back and wondered "what the hell IS that?"
I believe it is the one from Geelong?
Nice!
