First shot is lovely. Cant say the sepia works for me...but composition and light in the first work for me!

#1 - A good, strong image. I had a quick play in photoshop and I think it can be slightly improved by doing the following: channel mixer to warm the image up slightly (it's a bit green), hue/sat to saturate the green, red, and yellow tones, and a little contrast sharpening. Not much, but I think it's better. I can post if you like.
#2 - I don't like sepia; I've never liked sepia. If anything, I would go b&w, but I think this image has a lot of subtle tones in colour which you can bring out to your advntage.
Cheers

I'm going to go against the grain and say that I like number 2 the best. It doesn't look so much like a sepia image, but moreso an image with warm sunrise/sunset colours in it to me.
