Yeah im in two minds about them. Not happy because the shot would be better with out them, yet dont mind because they make the shot unusual. Plus there was no way of getting this shot without getting the foldback moniters(posts) in the way as the effects lights werent that far back on the stage so i had to shoot from really low.

Plus matt booy the JJJ photographer has the same shot on the website.

Willy:

Yes i had a media pass. Biggest gig i have ever shot. Around 20,000 people and the stage was HUGE at about 2m high.

Had some challenging times trying to frame shots but the light was really good.

Yep, as said above - No. 1 is very good, right spot and the right time.

You did well with the exposure on those, i've always struggled at gigs to get good shots. What sort of camera are you using? - they are very clean for ISO800.

There are some great images in this post, but that first shot of Chris Joannou is far and away the best band image I've seen from anyone here. The light and colour are spot on (no mean feat in these sort of conditions) and it's nice and crisp to boot, but the framing shows your great eye for the shot - having the light behind Chris' head makes the image a much more arresting shot. Thanks for sharing these.
