I have just come back from spending the weekend down south (of WA) in Eagle Bay, took most of the shots on the way there and back.

What do you think?

1st one is great idea but it lacks a bit of point of interest, I can't find one point to look at here.

#2 is great panorama and treatment, but again its bit dark and lacking some interests. maybe that is your intent, but I can't figure out whats behind the shades (or its just from this small resolution effect).

#3 great B&W treatment tones and composition :)

#4 Again, great stuff on this one!

Hi Harry,
I prefer the 2nd and 4th of this series.
The first whilst it's good, as Yip has said lacks 'something'.
The 3rd one - the vignetting somehow seems a bit OTT for me.
The last one though is definately my favourite here - excellent!

I like the last 2. Except I find that the 2nd last is quite dark, especially with vignetting on the edges.
Excellent shots.

Well I actually like #1 - for me the foreground provides that strong focus and then I get that OOF train (or whatever) on the rh which makes me look hard at the image - so it works for me. #4 is the standout though - a strong image and well suited to this well done B & W conversion.

#2 suffers from seeing it at this size I suspect and #3 - where are his feet Harry

Love the fourth one.

One of the better B&W conversions i've seen where it actually suits the image.

#4 B/W gives it the right tone, I don't think the same picture in color would have the same inpact.

Great shot, love the angle.

Thanks heaps for the feedback, I had a look at the shots on a different screen and I have reaslised that my monitor is quite bright, that is why a couple of them look so dark, I'll definatley fix that. Some great advice there, I was so annoyed when I cut that guy's feet off, he was giving me weird looks so i left before i got into any trouble. I agree with everyone about #1 too, I'm not sure what, but it just lacks something, I think it is just that the foreground distracts from the lines of the road and the truck.

Just in case anyone was interested, here are a couple of smaller copies of the color versions of the shots. (Sorry about putting them on the same page).

I also thought I'd put up a link to a slightly bigger version (1200x244) of the panorama shot. It definatley looks better when it is bigger.

Here is the link: http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/8772 ... y20ke9.jpg

The rest of the shots are in my Smugmug Gallery: http://harryfisherphotos.smugmug.com/ga ... #145973971

Harry your 4th image works equally well in B&W and colour. :D I think two just sort of has the wrong tree for that shot. Also a tiny amount of headroom above the tree might help, in the larger version it is even more noticeable about the chopped top.

The chop top was actually on purpose (it was a single shot cropped to a pano), but I think you're right about the type of tree. I did another one which i quite liked, it just wasn't as sharp as I would have liked.
