Hi All,

Some of you may have seen my post in the PP forum well here are 4 more from my day at the beach with my kids.

I really am trying to improve my photography so your honest feedback is appreciated.

Image 1 & 2 - I know there is a lot of "space" but this is what I was going for, I do a lot of tight crops so was looking for something different

Hi Woody,
I like #1.
I think it would have been better to focus on the hand in #3
#4 looks a little over satuated to me on my work monitor.
Hope my thoughts help.

Hi Woody,

I like the use of space in No 1, although for No 2, I would have composed the photo to have the child at the top of the shot. As it is, she is looking directly out of the shot, making the viewer's eye follow, and thus tending to ignore the rest of the shot - my opinion at least.

Woody - pics 1 and 2 are classic advertising examples of having space for copy and #2 is just superb. I don’t feel as if there is any need to C&C your eye composition - it works. The colours for me work.

Hi Colin,

Thanks for your comments. Yeah, I also thought I shoudl have focused on the hand however I really liked the pattern on her jeans, that is why I had that as the focus point (I have heaps of other images of her sandy hands!!!)

#4 looks ok on my monitor, I might check it at my work tomorrow.

That's a good point, however I wonder what is in the shot other than Sienna that is of interest?

I do agree though, it probably would have been better framed in the top corner.

I always love it when someone replies with suggestions re an image and then someone else replies saying they love it... just says a lot about photography
