Statue of Eros, London

Was in London for a week in March. I'm still sorting through the photos but here are some that caught my eye.

The Statue of Eros in Picadilly Circus was a real pain to try to shoot. EVERYONE wants their photo taken with it, so you can't really get close, and there's no point going long distance due to traffic, and there's neon lights nearby that cause all sorts of difficulty with the background. In the end I decide to try to shoot around the mayhem and concentrate on the statue. I had two different attempts at it, but I'm not sure which I prefer. Colour-wise, that's pretty much how it came out of the camera, incidentally.

Advice/opinions?

Anyway, while you're here, might as well throw in another shot:D

Look!! London Bus!!

I like the second. Well composed with the buildings in the background. Nice, like the colorful smoke effect too

#2 is better than #1, the buildings add some context. #1 is also on an awkward angle. I would tone down the pink colour cast a little. Any chance you can bring out some more of the building's detail as well?

#3 is quite a nice panning shot.

Cheers,

Thanks for the tip, Macka!

I tried a bit of a contrast and levels adjustment, but I think the pink on the building is a little bit too ubiquitous, and the level of overexposure on that part of the photo is a bit too much:

Perhaps a full black'n'white?
