hes done all the haute couture shows in paris london milan
after 20 years Robert ended up with a D70 and he uses the pop up flash
and he stands by it

their all waiting for the girls to get into first outfits this is the time i leave backstage to shoot runway if im lucky i get to shoot first outfits but its only like 5 minutes before the show

heres a pic of kristian Dowling from Getty images, he is the backstage genius, thing is he doesnt shoot fashion he is just on assignment to shoot fashion week backstage whenever it comes up, he shoots everything from sport to entertainment, he opts for a mini macro flash for beauty shots


here kristian uses a gary fong difusser which he doesnt think too highly off we all agreed its more of a spreader than a difusser but he said it does the job


and heres Jasper Glavanics from Oyster using a moded ring flash notice how huge the battery pack is which his assistant is holding

Thanks for sharing this, Wendell. It's an interesting insight into the life of a fashion photog and some of the equipment they use.

D70 + pop up flash?!?!? For Vogue?!?! I guess it really is a case of not the equipment but how you use it.

the reason why Robert Rosen has the vogue account is not his skill with the camera its that he knows everyone in the fashion and social circles he knows who to shoot and who's in the current media spotlight
he's been shooting Sydney A-listers for over 20 years

Vogue have another person shooting runway with proper equipment
