you have some nice shots there!

I ended up having some difficulty with the white/smoggy skies there as well, but it is really rewarding on a clear day.

cruise over to kichijyouji park as well if you have a chance, nice place there as well as good food :D

WW I do like these, and they are not what I expected when I opened your thread. I always tend to think of Japan as a very very modern place and these remind me of another side of the country. Very nice indeed :D

Hi Steve,

is this the temple of 1400 (1200 ?) lanterns ?
I've been to a temple of 1400 (1200 ?) lanterns in Tokyo or nearby, 5 years ago.
It is an amazing place.

Thanks for sharing.

Regards,
CD

Whoah, second shot looks awfully like one on the front of a Qantas Holidays Brochure sitting on the coffee table here!

Heading to Japan at the end of the year, these shots are exciting hehe. Nice work - I'm actually quite impartial to the leaves on the ground.

Christian - I dont think it is the same place (although there were a lot of lanterns). This place is called the "Toshogu Shrine," situated in the middle of Ueno park.

Ronnie - How strange to hear my picture is similar to one used by Qantas in a brochure. You will love Japan - I want to go back for sure.
