I started playing with some bike shots and would like some advice on which crop is better.

I hope you guys can give some guidance.

Advice on the cropI had Saturday off work and found myself with time on my hands (Pauline has gone shopping).
I started playing with some bike shots and would like some advice on which crop is better. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I hope you guys can give some guidance. Jeff
I like the crop on 83 because of the detail on the bike and the rider and leathers. The 10 bike I like seeing the full bike because of the colours and the lack of details.
To me a crop really works on a bike when there is a lot of detail on a bike or the rider. It also depends on the angle of the rider sometimes too. Hope this helps. Brett
Even if I'm not able to articulate why, I agree with bwhinnen - I like the cropped version of the first, the full version of the second. Both (or rather all four) are fine shots, though!

Jeff,
I'd look cropping the rear wheel pretty much as you have, but at the front, try cropping to just in front of the wheel, leaving just a bit of air/space there for the bike to "move into" as it were. Great colour, great images, btw. g.

Jeff - you have asked a question to which my reply would be both!!
From my point of view all pics have their place - for example, with pic #1, there would be many who would like to see the whole bike in action, and others who would like to see the action, real close. You could, for example, showcase the pic of the whole bike with an inset of the crop ![]() Chris
