I used an action on these first two that I stole from Ronza (it's ok, he stole it from someone else, and anyway, it's free ). You can read about and download it here. I should mention I messed around with it a bit, mainly to tone down the vignetting.





And lastly, I suspect this is a bit of a throw-away image (a shoot-from-the-hip image that looked half ok), but wouldn't mind hearing other people's thoughts:

If the last one was a square crop, I would say it looked like it came straight out of our Rolleiflex (that is supposed to be a complement ).

The use of the action in the first two look good - nice and contrasty.

I like the first one, especially with the death number already looking red, it provides a point of interest. I like the action you have used on that and the second.

The third image has so many points which should make it a classic, the dog, the little girl or the couple on the rocks looking wistfully away. Unfortunately for me, the sum of the whole is less than the parts. Maybe if one of the above was the focal point... maybe not. Hard when you are shooting from the hip.

I like the first one, too Kris. It has a nice and quirky feel to it.

But you missed the pigeon holes!!!

No pigeon holes there. They're missing out, I guess.

By the way, I watched Two Bricks, very quirky (as per your style ) but I have to ask, why were there bricks in the pigeon holes to start with? Is this some strange practise that I'm unfamiliar with?

Chinese lucky numbers, 8 is very lucky and wealthy, 4 sounds like death so is unlucky. Have a look at how many triple 8s, 888, you see in Chinatown next time on numberplates.

Number one is really cool and love the colour as the focal point.
