Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Alien Skin filter

I have downloaded the demo version of the title filter and having a lot of fun.

Here is one pic taken at Dobroyd (thanks for the spelling correction, Geoff  ) Head on Good Friday.

This is the original:

Appling the Velvia 100F (grain off) filter (tweaked a bit).

And applying one of the infrared filters, more heavily tweaked - I didn't think to do a bit of a comparison of different film filters when I was playing with this shot.

I think it is a great filter, however, for USD200, I am not sure if it is worth it.

C&C welcome.

I assume you're talking about Alien Skin Exposure.

If you're only going to use it for black & white, I suggest you take a look at B&W Styler which is a lot less expensive. It doesn't have many of the presets made for it, but emulating them in it isn't hard as the film types are already identified and loaded... plus it can do Agfa.

Yep, Alien Skin Exposure.

I will have a look at B&W Styler, but I am not sure if I just want it for B&W conversions. I do like the colour film presets, including, for example, Provia. I am a complete newbie with respect to different film types and the advantage of this is that I can play around with different filter presets to determine how [the filter applies] the different films look.
