Some Formula Vees from Round 2 of the NSW State Championships last weekend, C&C much appreciated!

#1 is D200 + 70-200 VR, #2-4 are D200 + Sigma 1.4x TC + Sigma 120-300 f/2.8.

Wow! The 120-300 produces amazing results with the TC mounted!

I'm blown away :D

Nice mate 2 & 3 are my picks. Great timing on three, and I really like the low angle and compressed foreground feel to 2.

Good to see the images are nice and sharp with the 1.4 TC, guess i'll add it to the list!

Cheers mate, nice shots all round.

Thanks for the comments guys! Glen the 120-300 is very good, the only thing I'd perhaps like is a bit faster AF sometimes (and a zoom ring that goes the 'Nikon' way, I'm forever zooming out when I mean to zoom in and vice-versa :(). It's a very heavy (monopod only) lens that's not really practical for everyday use, but it's sharp and combined with the 1.4x TC it works well! Unfortunately it doesn't like the modified TC17EII as much, AF constantly hunts on both the D200 and D70, although it's still pretty sharp.

Thanks Trent, sounds like a great lens for the money, frustrating about the TC issue, especially when the 1.7 partners so nicely with the 70-200 and the 1.4 partners well with your 120-300
