As an aside...these calculators were used by the Australian Army Survey Corps for carrying out calculations and there are a number of them in the Australian Army Engineers Museum at Moorebank.

I had a plastic version of a Curta Calculator which I used years ago (late 60's) working out stage times whilst navigating in car trials - it was a bit easier to use in low light than a slide rule! (Sometimes you had to stop and wait - being too quick to finish was as bad as being too slow) :lol: :lol: :lol:
