started experimenting with Black and White which i don't normally dabble in
all harshly lit for contrast and mood

except for this one

Gorgeous set wendell. There is a real freshness to these images and the lighting is very punchy. I really like #1(but would probably have toned down the blown right side of face just a tad IMO). I also adore the last the lighting, mood and perspective are spot on. I would seriously consider cropping out the cylinder on top of the head of the model. I personally find that it distracts from the dramatic lighting and beauty of the composition, indeed a crop a little closer to the tight crop in image 2 would enhance the image a great deal. The portrait has great visual impact, the lighting, contrast and those eyes are perfectly in tune. Gorgeous stuff Wendell. You continue to amaze me with your technical skills and ability to execute the vision you hold in your minds eye.

here is another crop of 4 all it need to do now is duplicate the shot with a parisian backdrop and that would be sweet.

Great images Wendell. I love #1 & #4. I agree with Marco on the cropping idea for #4.

The harsh lighting in #2 shows up the small hairs on your models face which I feel are a little detration to this otherwise lovely image.

#3 gives me a feeling that it is..hmmm..sort of about light and dark- due to the contrast in lighting on each side of your models face. It's almost 2 images in the one shot.

lighting is harsh sun and ad a black card to cut of light the rest is cleaned up in photoshop

Last one is my favourite here.

Was it shot on available light and as 'candid/backstage'? Or it is actually a staged shot with light set up?

Wendell, great photos and the B&W conversion is spectacular.

I actually liked the flare or ghosting exhibited in the original no 4, but also loved the effect of the crop you applied.

Awesome lighting, beautiful models and a great combination captured very well.

#1 is great, but the tighter crop on 4 works very nicely.

On 4, can you now play with your curves, and bring in a smidgeon of shadow detail in the model's right cheek?
