Nice and sharp Pa. I prefer the colour version as it brings out the subtle pink tones of the beak more.

In the colour one the beak and the feathers are very similar colour and the sky dominates. I really like the black and white, though - the details in the feathers are more noticeable via the contrast, and I like the white on black background.

I prefer the colour but that said the black and white would be striking if you printed it big and found the right spot to hang it.

I prefer the B&W if the sky was not completely dark...

thanks for the feedback john, BT*ist, and craig. i've tried a few b/w conversions in the past and this is the only one i thought may have worked.

B&W for me.
Perhaps you could try a selective colour though. Sky black. Bird in colour?

B&W for sure- but I'm a big infrared fan, and that glowing white and black sky is just what i like!!
Nice conversion

B&W for me. But I would like to see a bit more depth of tone to the Pelican.
