Just a couple of shots from a sunrise up at Mooloolaba last month ... hadn't even really had a good look at these, but they didn't turn out toooo bad

#1 is terrific. Love the play between the golden horizon and the rocky foreground. Perhaps the foreground, to be really picky lacks a little critical sharpness, but i love the image. As wendell said beautiful tone.

Just had another look at that first image Rel. I'm wondering if cropping that protruding rock structure from the left side might better balance the whole image? I find myself drawn off frame on the left by it. Though it could be my warped perspective after a rum and coke

I really love this second one, rock structure and light, but ... If you will have another chance try made this photo with longer exposure time!
I just would like to see this in bigger res. version.

The first one is too much divided by half filter (too strong border effect)

My pick is the second one here. I find the colours in the sky and foreground of the first shot a little conflicting whereas they seem more natural in the second image.

That being said, the composition, particularly the choice of position given that wonderful foreground, is, for me, the standout feature of the first shot.

These wonderful sea/skyscapes need something in the foreground...a Harley motorbike or a beautiful girl....fill flash to light them. They need the extra element to lift them up out of the many shots like this we see.

Yeah the second one is my pick of the two because of the blue tones throughout
