Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

I don't know what to make if this image. I don't know what that thing is. The day looks wet and dreary though and you're brave to go out photographing in it. :)

This image is rather strange in that at first glance there is nothing to like.....but I like it anyway. It sets a mood of mystery. The shower has prescence of dread.

It is a shower at a beach.

I think it needs to be lightened up a tad.

It is indeed a shower at a beach (Elwood Beach in Melbourne). My intention was to try and capture that moment when on a freezing cold day, you have to face the horror of using cold water.

Ah, I haven't seen one of those before. I thought the cold shower was a reference to the weather. :) I learn something new everyday.

For some reason i do kind of like the image, even if it's cold and dark. Perhaps it's indicative of winter.

I agree. The distant pole in the mist adds to that mystery.

Yeah I was thinking about that. If I could have an old guy in speedos and a swimming cap heading towards the water, it would have been perfect.

Something the north welsh would not understand. We dont have a decent bridge to look at, nor a pile of broken egg shells in the shape of a hall.

Although, the dark and dreary picture does epitomise todays climate :D

As you said, you wanted to capture that one day a year we have when its raining in Melbourne, and you have done it well. Good timing!
