Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

John

These are all very good, but that last shot is just sublime. Terrific subject matter is made better by your masterful composition. Thanks for sharing these.

I think number 3 would have been the best but it is a bit to bright. If it only had been taken a little later the whole picture would have been brilliant. What can I say about the last, well outstanding composition for starters.

Thanks for the comments guys. With that last one, whenever I look at it I feel cold. So I figure it works well (for me anyway).

Crackatoea, I've been having issues with my monitor which is very bright so I tend to darken the images too much for other people's viewing. It looks like I've gone a bit far the other way this time. I have a new (30" Dell) monitor on order. When it arrives, I'm going to get a spyder and learn all about monitor calibration. I didn't bother calibarating my old clunker.

Cheers

These are just as good as part one's images. Great light too.

Nice shots, John! Makes me want to be there.

Those pandani's look great with snow on them too.

I like the Amphitheatre effect in the last one, all the trees and the use of wide angle.

John,

The first shot doesn't do much for me - feeling rather than a technical issue.
The next two are very good.
The last one is outstanding.

Beautiful captures of a stunning place in Tassie, John. That particular pine tree leaning on the waters edge is very well photographed! (by me included!) ;)

There is something so magical about this part of Tassie, and you have captured it well, makes me want to go and put my coat and gloves on as I remember it to be freezing!! #3 is my pick!

Thanks Jane. To be honest, it was your stunning images of Lake Dobson with perfect reflections a couple months ago that got me to go there.
So I've got you to thank for these images. :)
Cheers

Wow! That's great John, I'm glad I have inspired someone with my photography! Living in Tassie should be an inspiration in itself...there are so many amazing places there and I can't wait to go back!

I was nodding to myself at the first 3 thinking hmm yes these are good nice reflections, good DOF... then the last one dropped my jaws... framed on the wall it would be divine.

Thanks for the comments Who, Wendell and Lukeo.
Number 4 is my favourite also, along with #1 from my earlier Lake Dobson post. They will both be going on the wall. :)

Cheers
