Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Some newies!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cheers dan
I'd like to see #1 and #4 without the "pots and pans" obscuring the view to the subject. Maybe just duck down a little. The bright white "handle" overhead is distracting from her eyes.
The suggestive pose in #4 is subtle, well, kind of. #3, maybe just PP out that bump on her hip from underwear, just caught by the light.
I can't think of any advice, they look bloody great to me. I agree with the pot and pans comment though.
Do you have any advice/links on skin smoothing etc? Harry Nikon D80, MB-D80, Nikon 50mm f/1.8, Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8, SB-800, Sigma 18-200 f/3.5-6.3

Overexposed bananas, too much dangly stuff from the kitchen setting and clueless use of the earpiece of a faux old fashioned phone...
well apart from that...nice... ![]() ![]() ![]()
Last one is good, but the DOF drags it from being better.
Now, this might sound to be flaming from me, but don't take it to be flaming because it isn't, even though in some ways it'd be nice if you'd pay attention to either your camera's or Photoshop's histogram: do you not know what a highlight is? Because you keep killing them! Geeze Dan... stop killing your whites. You need to be fabric softener when you're post-processing, not bleach. It's an example of someone who doesn't know how to PP when they continually make the same mistake over and over again, no offense. I mean this especially for number 1, where it's way too glossy and overblown. From the way the colour seems over harsh in number 3, you'd be doing it there too if she were wearing white. Thanks Leigh...i do actually like to keep my highlights bright, but maybe i am over doing it, i just hate a plain boring (static) image. I will keep plowing on, nothing i ever take will be technically correct anyhow (as i am technically crap and rely to much on post to save images) so thanks for the tips, Dan
yep highlights are way overblown.
