A quick portrait

Finally picked up the camera again today. Haven't used it for a fair while for various reasons (none of them really valid  ).

Took a few shots of the long suffering partner in crime to get the feel of the camera again. It was like starting all over from scratch.

Anyway this is our favourite from the series. Not up to the standard of the portraits being posted recently but wanted to get some c&c.

I really like it. the framing and the exposure, balancing the rear light (through the slats) and the flash. Background is nice and clean/simple.

Thanks Oz_Beachside. It was the way the light was coming through the louvres that caught my eye as having possibilities so I made her interrupt her houskeeping for an impromptu test shoot. Wasn't very popular :D

not popular because you called it, "her" housekeeping?

For a person who hasn't taken photos for a while you have achieved a great result. Only slight comment would be that there is a little glare/highlight on her left check and forehead I assume from flash but this could easily be taken out with photoshop. Love the blue eyes and hair colour.

I like the comp and perspective, i find the glare behind her very distracting though and her skin looks quite shiny, some PS could fix that up though.

Thanks for your comments guys. I've done some pp to take out the shiny sweaty bits. Has that worked okay?

Oz_Beachside, its her house so I guess its reasonable to call it her houskeeping. Thankfully she has a good sense of humour :D

Yes crackatoea, those eyes suck me in every time.
