First one looks like Little red riding hood on her way to Grandma's, so therefore the guy must be the BIG BAD Wolf. Also I like the expression of the girl in two. I will have to try a few candid's, they look like fun and seem to tell a story with each shot
IN the second shot, your motives are obvious - you were really scoping out the Chubb security van in the background - don't hide behind this "candid street" photography rubbish - you are like all those people who shoot photos in public! A menace to society!
(sorry, just having a laugh - cool candids). ![]() ![]() ![]() Regards, Patrick
Two or three lights, any lens on a light-tight box are sufficient for the realisation of the most convincing image. Man Ray 1935. Our mug is smug
I really like the second one but it would be better without the two people in the background who are nearly in focus. Being a candid you don't have much control over this.
![]() The third one is good too, she looks like she has the weight of the world on her... either that or she's daydreaming about a date tonight. ![]()
#3 and #4 for me. Very expressive and both tell great stories.
I like #1 as well but to me it looks like the focus is on the wall behind them, with the subjects a tad OOF. I suspect viewed bigger this would be more obvious and take away the impact of the shot. Nice work. I like candids but as yet haven't been game to shoot randoms in the city myself. Guess that's one to be avoided during the APEC summit...
Thanks all for the kind words, much appreciated.
The tight portrait of the well dressed elderly gentleman, was a lucky shot, only just got the camera to eye and released the shutter in a split second, turned out to be the beat of the day, though I do like the shot of the Asian couple, she was very animated in her discussion. Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I have my doubts about the former.
