#1 is my pick, very clean and crisp.
I'm not much of a bird man myself so that is about the extent to which i am able to comment on them

All very good shots. Well captured. What lens were you using?

My only comment is the slightly blown highlights on the first one.

Yeah, sometimes the image is a tad blown but birds are very hard to photograph when they're buzzing around your head!

I was photographing the big swell at the entrance to Coffs Harbour and the birds were going crazy for some reason. They were everywhere!

To answer your question, I was using my 30D with 70-200 F2.8 IS lens.
