These are pretty much just opportunistic shots of our new addition, Braden's birthday present and a playmate to grow up with.

Lady Liberty, a 9 week old Jack Russell Terrier...

I was asleep, thanks!

Brett - both beautiful shots and a great present for your son.

I prefer the 2nd of these as in the 1st one, the OOF material in the foreground distracts a bit too much for me. The 2nd one is beautiful as it is, but I think would 'pop' some more with a bit of an increase on the contrast and a slightly tighter crop. Beautiful none the less. Thanks for sharing! ;)

Pets are a great gift for a child, bringing them a sense of responsibility with a lifetime of everlasting love and companionship.

I had to photograph an older (and much more lively) Jack Russell for a family photo shoot late last year, it was difficult getting the shot cos it moved so damn quickly but we got it. They are crazy (but loveable) dogs! :)

Thanks Geoff.

I was trying to isolate her on the first shot, probably the wrong material to use for that, and potentially a narrower DOF would have helped.

He has really warmed to her today, was unsure yesterday. Just trying to teach him that she doesn't need to be picked up every 30 seconds, and I want to capture a few shots of him hand feeding her, which he has picked up of his own accord.

Can you explain why a puppy like that doesn't need to be picked up every 30 seconds? Jack russells and foxies are awesome dogs.

Can you say "no" to her? :)

Ahh I shouldn't be so lazy and edit on my laptop... Seems the monitor profile I had on there has gone walkies...

Has a bit more pop now, and PS tells me I've not clipped anything, although it looks like I have to me... (also cropped).

No doubt the camera will get a workout on the new addition. I just spent the weekend going through some old shots of my black staffy when he was 8 weeks old and comparing it to what he looks like now, what a change. Keep us updated on his changing looks over time
