Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.

Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.

Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

I don't know if my images are cached on my pc, but I presume you tried right click/show picture? These images are from my smugmug site (first time I have sourced images for posting from there) so I don't know if I need to do something different to using flickr.

If you view this and the links are broken, can you please post here? Otherwise I don't know apart from Kris' post.

Thanks Brett.

I read the FAQ again, and Peter uses smugmug as an example, with the L.jpg extension. Perhaps it is because it is from a password protected gallery in smugmug?

Gorgeous! I really like #4 and the mood the B&W creates.

Very cute. #4 is lovely.

My personal taste would be to do a less 'yellowish' black and white conversion on #1 and #4.

You say that because you probably have a calibrated monitor - be like me, take risks, don't have a calibrated monitor and see what happens.

Seriously, the B&W conversion included a platinum tone to it, which gives it a slight cast to it. It may not be as prominant on my screen.

Sensational shots Patrick, you should be proud of your photography, not only your son.

I can vouch that Alex is even cuter in real life :)

Thanks for the comments guys

Mick, he is struggling to hold the Bronica in both hands at the moment! He has managed to work out the new superannuation laws and the Duckworth and Lewis method already!

Hard to take a bad shot of your own. They are all moments to remember.
They both look happy and well which is great.

I don't know what it is with baby photos and black and white but I just love the look. Your lucky that your into photography when your kids are so young. I have only just discovered it now but my kids are 7 and 10, having said that I am fast making up for it.
