While these corals are often called "Sun Corals", they don't actually need any light at all, and generally only open up at night (i.e. when there is no sun).

I took them using a Nikon D70 and Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED II with +5 diopter lens in an Ikelite housing with 2 Ikelite DS125 Substrobes while on a night dive at Pixie's Pinnacle at the southern end of Ribbon Reef #10 on the Great Barrier Reef. All four images were taken at f/16 and 1/200s.

Magical stuff!!
Love seeing your under water images - they're truely out of the ordinary from what we see here, and that makes them unique! Thanks for sharing.
