From the water to the mountains

Had a bit of a wander round the Marocchy Botanic Gardens, and then walked up Wildhorse Mountain for an attempt at a few sunset photos. The last photo is from the same location, but a different day. The first isn't the greatest, but it's a nice spot.

All are D50 + 18-55 kit lens, 3 photo HDR.

Thanks for looking - any comments & criticisms welcomed and appreciated!

excellent work there! im diggin' the first and last.
top stuff.
the reflection of the trees against the water is oh so clear.. but unfortunately the jpeg compression pixelated a bit of the water.

I really like the third - possibly check that the horizon is level (I don't know the terrain... it could be straight). The second is also very nice, but I'm not so sure that the bright sun works. That said, the most interesting part of the view is the part on the right, so at that time of day you had little choice. I'm not so sure where to focus in the first image.

Again, though : love the drama of the third image.

No.2 and No.3 for me - enlarge, print, frame, hang! Well done.

Nice series here with the last one being my preferred. It was a very good use of HDR, not overdone as sometimes they can be.

well done,

André

Love 1 & 3. The suns rays on 2 detract from what would be an awesome shot.

Agree with Geoff. Would make a great piece for the wall.

Number 1: I like the use of reflection. Any image with interesting use of water I like :)
Number 2: The solar flaring is a little emphasized. The valley looks like some kind of agriculture going on?
Number 3: Has a Lord of Rings feel to it :)

#1 - I agree with Mark on this shot - great saturation of colour
#2 - I find the flare just too obvious and distracting
#3 - Absolutely beautiful

All 3 are wonderful, 2 & 3 are both exceptional.

Thanks very much for the critique of my photos, and the kind comments!

To have people, who have some incredible photography skills, tell you that they like your work...it really does make my day :)

Thanks again.
