Heysen Trail in the Flinders - Part 3

This time around, I'm giving you something different, some panoramas. One of the amaizing places of the Flinders Ranges is the Wilpena Pound. I took this pano from the top at St Mary Peak (1170m). It was noon, so things were a bit hazy so not optimum but it would still give you a feel of what it is like. With such wide open spaces, panorama photos start to show the place as it was experienced.
NOTE: If you click on the image, you will get a very large version of the pano, so if you have dialup, beware.
The previous day we had walked across it, from right to left about mid way in the "pound".
A couple of days later, we were in the Gammon National Park on the Grindell Plain and I got this pano. From this panoramic photo, you really get a feel as to how barren the land is over in the park.
Both were taken with the Tokina 12-24 set at 24mm. The first was taken as 9 photos in landscape format while the second was taken as 11 portrait format photos. I still have to do some work to make the sky smooth but they are not too bad. All done hand-held and put together with PTGui on the Mac.
Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
André
