I had a few hours for lunch yesterday and one of my customers was out at a ride day at Eastern Creek, so I took my new 70-200vr out for it's first real play on a sunny day

my only problem other than getting use to using a monopod for the first time was the fact that he was on a black bike with dark leathers which made it hard to get any details out of the shadows

turn 3 - at least his friends bike and leathers had a little more color

I need a lot more practice to get my keeper rate up but for a first real try I'm happy with yesterdays effort

Good first outing with the VR mate.

Nice contrast and colours. Maybe next time try a slightly slower shutter speed and pan more. Also, on panning, you will probably find it easier to pan without a monopod using the 70-200. It's small enough to be handheld. Using a monopod means your pivot point is about 20 cms infront of you, which means you are pivoting around the camera. If you hand hold, it's easier to get a smoother pan.

I sometimes miss my VR, and when you post pics like this, I miss it even more. Well done!

#2's the best i reckon. It would be great to see some more blur in the background. The 70-200 is more than capable and is awesome, have fun!
