So, I forgot to take the Timesnap photo, but before a late lunch at Dee Why, I took a couple of beach shots.

Not overly happy with them, but C&C appreciated.

Also, these are linked to our smugmug site, so, I would appreciate it if the first person to view posts whether or not the photos are appearing.

One of my key criteria, particularly for landscapes, is to avoid blown highlights - the histograms in the camera and PS indicate that these meet that criteria!

Yep, four photos appearing just fine.

I like the first and third ones (except for the dark haze around the third one) but what I like tends to be different to everyone else!
The second one I would like more if the lady in red wasn't bending over, sitting on the steps might have been good?

Hope you all enjoyed the day,

Elena

I like #2 and #3 best. Those stairs going into the distance give a nice sense of depth.

The first three seem a bit edgy on my monitor, maybe a touch oversharpened, but could be dodgy downsampling/jpeg conversion, too.

Cheers
Steffen.

I like the first one - there's something classic and quiet about it. The curved light poles look a bit odd in the following two (not your fault - they are, in fact, curved!).

Thanks for the comments. :)

Steffen - apart from the third one, I don't think I applied any sharpening apart from via ACR.

Gary - you have befuddled me - I didn't lose my phone :? :?

It would appear from the shadow length that these may have been taken late afternoon but to my eye the colour balance just does not seem right or, maybe, the saturation.

Chris, I applied a plug-in effect which sought to give it a Velvia effect - perhaps it is oversaturated.

That said, these were taken at about 3:22pm on Sat.

Cheers

I don't know if I'd describe it as oversaturation, personally. I like highly saturated images, whereas other people don't.

So maybe they're highly saturated, rather than over saturated.
