Blue Wren's

Two female blue wren's, from Nannup W.A.

The males are much more brightly coloured but alas I could find none to photograph. These two were hard enough they didn't seem content to sit still for more than a split second at a time flitting from branch to branch.

Lueko - these shots show just how hard these little guys must be to capture. I find them a little too soft but I can't even begin to imagine the difficulty in getting a clean/crisp shot. I'd like to see them at a closer focal length and somewhat sharper. Having said that I take my hat off to you nature photographers, something I've never really tried and something I will leave to the experts :). Post some more when you get them! :)

Nice capture as these little guys do not stay still for very long......

I'll see if I can do anything in terms of processing, I think if I wanted closer shots I have two options

1. the full camo gear, the hat with the branches/leaf's attached etc...
2. 400mm lense of some sort. (400mm F2.8 $$$ or 80-400 VR maybe).

If I'd had longer I would have found there water source and positioned myself in some scrub as close as possible. They'd have to come for a drink sooner or later.

Patience pays off, thanks for the comments and tonight I'll post up a couple more hopefully a tad sharper and closer.

Thanks for sharing, they really show the character of these beautiful little birds. I know from my own attempts how hard they are to capture. A great deal of patience is required and just when you give up and walk away a perfect opportunity arises.

They are nicely seperated from the background and beautifully placed in the landscape....but you have to get closer or use a longer focal length lens in order to make the images more dramatic.

Found this one amongst them, slightly closer but I didn't like the shadow myself on the branch. I can see my 70-200 isn't long enough lens lust calls.
