I often think what a great photo this would be without the (pesky) apartments in front of it. Taken today with the 85 1.4, sepia conversion with optikverves virtual photographer. Comments welcomed as per usual:

When I saw the title, I was expecting a photo of drunken Irishmen at the Steyne Hotel.

I like the sepia treatment. You're right, it's a shame about the apartments. Given my small screen, it appears that there is too much foreground, but that is only because I have to scroll down. Overall, I think the shot is great, particularly if I had a bigger screen as I think the comp is great - sorry if I sound contradictory - 6 hours sleep

Patrick,

You're correct.

Geoff, crop this just above the waterline.

And yes, Geoff, you're right. Those apartments need to be knocked down.

Should you tell the residents that their block will be knocked down first?

Why take the fun out of it? :)

Gstark, I agree with you about knocking down this ugly block of flats. While you're at it could you also knock down a similarly hideous block in Red Hill Brisbane that spoils the view of St Brigid's Church. Residents of Brisbane will know which one I mean.
