Agree with D D. Possibly too many doors taking the focus away from the model. Image #2 for me and think your giant chicks concept works well. Great PP work on that one.

The doors shot just doesn't do it. I was left looking at your neighbours back yard. Maybe in a studio where you can see all 3 full doors. It just seemed kinda busy and not keeping my attention on the girl ( I must not be feeling well ).

Love shots 1,2 & 4.

Shot 3 the model seems to get lost.

Otherwise i love your work and always check out your photos/posts

To me the backgrounds aren't QUITE working in images 1 & 4. I don't mind image #3 because I think there is an element of compositional awareness that is pretty good, although a tighter crop may enhance it.

I feel the shot with the greatest potential is #2. It starts with an extremely photogenic model, it is well framed and the lighting is pretty good too. I like the treatment of the hair and the emphasis on the bling.

But, to me anyway, the whole effect is lost because of the treatment of the model's skin. It looks like Botox was on special somewhere, and she got as much as she could carry!

Sorry Dan, but these plasticised features are a bit OTT in my opinion.

I do however, compliment you on the imagination you put to use in your settings and poses.

Well mate your opinion you are entitled too, but here is secret for you.....I did next to NO skin "treatment" at all on that head shot bar cloning a few spots out??? So what you see is what came out of the camera bar the clone tool for spots (very few i might add) and tonal changes....thats it?? NO airbrushing what so ever, so i cannot explain why you feel that way, SOME girls in this world have great skin, rare but they are out there!

Again i DON'T like that plastic look either.....and i have pegged right back from using airbrushing techniques altogether...The Save For Web action i use also does soften the images somewhat as well, trust me the full res images have every pore on thier skin staring right back at you...You have to remember also that these girls are "paying" me to make them look "plastic" so i do what the dollar says ............lol

You are lucky indeed to find a model with absolutely no character lines on her face, and skin with texture like plastic. My apologies to you and the model.

No worries mate, i wasn't saying it to be smart or anything....she IS a stunning work of art!!

Superb shots mate! Hopefully soon some of my time is going to free up and I'll be able to have a go at some shots like this...

You are developing a very strong, personal style with your work and that's a difficult thing to achieve. Keep at it, refine and refine again. You are going to go places with this level of creativity.

Dan - if you are using Save for Web in PS it could explain the ”plastic” look. It’s far better to save the image as a jpg through the save as command. It could also explain the lack of ”pores”

i can appreciate the dimension and dynamic you create in your images

but just as a side note you should give ample time on achieving rapport with the model as soem expressions look slightly unflattering not sure if this is your concept but if the girl feels absolutely gorgeous it will show in the pictures

otherwise congratiulations on trying and trying and trying again and again thats an admirable wuality and it will help you in the industry
