SHOTGUN REMEDY..first attempt at band pics

Well tonight was my first try at doing concert pics with my new 70-200 2.8 IS..I have never shot anything like this before ...So here goes..C&C very welcome

Nice first attempt.
One and two for composition for me, but I'd play with the colour as the red lights are drowning out detail.
The black & white needs detail (which the lack of focus kills) as well as more saving of the shadows, but nice attempt nonetheless.

thanks leigh..I was winging it a fair bit...alot harder than doing motorsport pics...

dodge, im alright liking your work.
and being a first attempt, i must admit that i like your style over mine!
as for the red light drowning highlights, thats a common problem with shooting these things..
i took Gary's advice on using a manually dialled down external flash to not just illuminate my subject in crap lighting but also to neutralise some of the red and bring back some detail without causing too much distraction/annoyance with the flash.
keep it up!
